Ego, the great betrayer, AKA Wile E Coyote. Ever watch the Saturday morning cartoons of old called “the Road Runner”? There was a road runner “Beep, Beep” and there was Wile E Coyote. This was a Loonie Tune production created by Chuck Jones that can still be found on the internet.

I believe Wile E Coyote is a fantastic representative of the ego. There is nothing that Wile E Coyote will not do in his efforts to capture the Road Runner. He is never successful but that does not deter him. He has kept Acme Co. in business for years with all of his machinations and efforts.

Wile E Coyote’s intention is to capture the Road Runner, by any means possible. He is tenacious, ruthless, cunning, tricky, slippery, just as the Ego is.

Think about it, never tiring, never giving up, always on your case, nattering at you in your inner self any time, place or hour!

I have done a lot of work on my ego and I now have a certain level of fondness for it. That being said I do not trust it for even a second! It is still the great betrayer, the Wile E Coyote.
